December 2015 – ORD!

Week 1

It’s the final countdown. With most of the people gone, the whole place literally becomes what is termed “no-government”. Meaning, voluntary breakfast, complete ceasing of marching, non-existent lights out time and much more leeway for basically anything. After all, what is the point in being so hard on the minority when everything can end nice and peaceful.

November 2015 – Goodbye Xperia Z

Death of my Xperia

Once in a while misfortune befalls individuals. And I happen to be that individual. Tuesday, 3rd of november, I played 2048 on my phone and lost before even reaching the 2048 tile. Immediately, I lost all interest in playing and decided to leave it till after dinner. Little did I know that was the last time I would ever get to play 2048 on my Sony.

Somehow, in some way, my phone slipped right out of my hand while walking to dinner. I mean, after all these time of holding my phone, I have never dropped my phone, and even if I did knock my phone off tables or whatsoever, the phone survived each time. Yeah obviously there will be slight aesthetics damage, but the phone is 99% perfect every single time. Sony designed this phone extremely well. When the phone falls, the point of contact will always be with the edge of the phone, so no matter which part of the phone, front  or back or sides, hit the floor, the screen will always stay protected and thus protecting the phone.

September 2015 – Overdue As Usual

One might wonder why the September post came after the October post. Shouldn’t it come before the October post since September comes before October in the calendar? Well, the short answer is procrastination. The long answer is I’m too lazy to write anything and also the fact that September was a rather packed month.

I had planned to finish the August post in September and at the same time write up on the affairs of September. Unfortunately, that will not happen as my memories of the remnants of August and September have faded away for the most part. Which is why photos are so important. Oh well…..

So let’s skip the writing and go straight to the photos.

October 2015

Busy times. Concluded a year of operations which should translate to more free time and a less stressful life.

Week 1

Interesting turn of events like pieces of a puzzle falling together led to me taking over the duty on one of the days. The results was rather rewarding, allowing me to chance upon some rather talented musicians. Their ability to hear notes perfectly and harmonize is really inspiring. Changing the keys of songs and figuring out chords by ear is barely a challenge for them. Motivation +50.

August 2015

No, this site isn’t dead. It’s just barely updated that’s all. And so this post will be a wall of text with ~85% accuracy as time blurs the tiny details. Tiny details like how I rediscovered © is Alt-169 on the keyboard (ASCII is fun) should be left out, but hey I probably forget this again if I don’t type it somewhere.

DRIVING

First up. Now I can legally drive alone and finally drive past that ridiculously slow 50km/h speed limit. That’s right, I’ve passed the TP test. Honestly speaking, I was super jittery since last night. That, the evening coffee and the afternoon nap combined left me staring at the ceiling wondering when I will finally fall asleep. So I woke up this morning feeling like I have barely slept a wink, which only made matters worse. Little background info. Started my driving account last year, took my own sweet time to take the BTT, failed it because I didn’t bother studying thinking it’s really common sense and laughed it off when I failed by one point(44/50). Seriously I still think its funny. And so I waited three whole months, retook the test and barely passed (46/50).

Friday the 10th of July

First off, it’s payday today! Had a rather interesting week, starting from Monday when I took the ftt test and surprisingly got full marks for it. I find it rather troublesome to have to take two tests before being allowed to take the practical driving test. Each test requires a excruciating long period of time and does not come free either. If both tests could be combined into one, so many new drivers could save a little but of money. Get five litres of petrol maybe.

June ’15

The half year mark. Half a year more and freedom shall return. This has been a rather busy month, but there has been interesting developments in the tech field. Windows 10 is rumored arriving July 29! I have used Windows 95, XP, Vista and 7, with a little hands on with 8.1. Vista was a horror to use, while 7 made things better. 8.1 had a little performance improvement for day to day usage, but the hassle of having to start all over with a new fresh OS install killed it.

Things are different now,my Win 7 install has gathered quite a bit of junk and cold boot has slowed from 40+ seconds to 2 minutes and counting. Responsiveness and performance has dropped too. Its partly the antivirus fault, but you cannot be too cautious in this age of digital spying etc.

Reality Check

Today is the start of a new month and a new beginning. Looking back at the past few years have made me realise that almost nothing significant was achieved. May was kind of an emotional roller-coaster and a stressful month. So right now, things have to be set right, starting with the most important of all – personal growth. In order for progress to be made, before even taking the first step in any direction, goals must first be set. Something to measure the progress and some structure to follow in this mess of a world. Without goals, this all just becomes meaningless, another bunch of text to be forgotten when the calendar reaches 2016.

Thoughts at 3AM

It’s the first day of Chinese new year, and I’m up at 3am, with absolutely nothing to do. Watched a couple of movies, got bored of the dumbbell and played a few rounds of poker. And so my mind started wondering and thought of a weird idea. What if everyone of us was special and perceive sensory feedbacks in a way which is uniquely to us? Nobody would know for sure.
