This is just the second week of the first ever semester of my university life. Perhaps its the adjustment phase, or that my brain has been hibernating for too long. Faced with the pile of lecture notes, online lectures and tutorials, I feel like I’m reading Greek!
When I received my timetable, I found out that I only had 9 AUs when everyone else I know has 18 or 21 for those with minors or double degrees. That is because I have been exempted from 3 modules (physics, math and econs). Apparently they think that since I read them in JC and gotten an A, there is no need for me to sit through the paper again.
Do I actually need to read those modules again? How much do I actually remember and how much content have I retained post JC?
Student Conversion Couse
Well the truth is two years in NS has stripped me of the knowledge I have temporarily acquired for the A levels. Techniques like differentiation/integration and circular motion which used to be a piece of cake for me now appear to be akin to rocket science. What made matters worse is that I chose to take on modules recommended for semester 2, which required the skills taught in the 3 modules which I have been exempted. Turns out the modules (Dynamics and Math II) are the hardest year 1 modules for the course.
In other words, right now all my time is spent revising my old A level notes and trying to dig out from depths of my brain the magical fairy that tells me what is the integral of cosec x. Everyone says the first semester is the easiest and the most opportune moment to start of a high cgpa. All these seem to be an uphill task, judging from the increasing workload and non cooperative group members for graded assignments. All I can ask for is a miracle, to have the strength to tide through this period.
Thirty minutes of precious time has just passed. Well…..back to aerodynamics I go.

P.P.S Going off topic – Bought a violin yesterday! Right now I have zero skills, hopefully the classes will help get me to playable level.
